Academy of Dance is a community centered, inclusive studio in Brighton that has welcomed dancers of all ages for more than 25 years. Families from Howell, Hartland, South Lyon, and Pinckney choose AOD for its friendly environment, beginner friendly approach, and commitment to confidence building.

Our Story
Academy of Dance, known locally by many as Theresa’s Academy of Dance, began more than 25 years ago with a simple mission. Create a place where everyone feels welcome and where dancers can build confidence through movement.
From its beginnings as a small community studio, AOD has grown into a well known institution in Brighton and the surrounding areas. Dancers from Howell, Hartland, South Lyon, and Pinckney come to AOD for the supportive environment, positive teaching approach, and emphasis on joy and learning.
AOD was founded on the belief that dance should be accessible, encouraging, and confidence building for every student. Our mission is to provide a space where dancers of all ages and abilities feel included, valued, and inspired.

AOD is not a pressure first studio. We celebrate both recreational and competitive dancers equally and offer flexible scheduling for families with multiple hobbies.
