About Academy of Dance in Brighton MI
Academy of Dance is a community centered, inclusive studio in Brighton that has welcomed dancers of all ages for more than 25 years.
Our Story
Academy of Dance, known locally by many as Theresa’s Academy of Dance, began more than 25 years ago with a simple mission. Create a place where everyone feels welcome and where dancers can build confidence through movement.
From its beginnings as a small community studio, AOD has grown into a well known institution in Brighton and the surrounding areas. Dancers from Howell, Hartland, South Lyon, and Pinckney come to AOD for the supportive environment, positive teaching approach, and emphasis on joy and learning. The studio has proudly produced 11 Nutcracker performances, giving generations of dancers the chance to shine on stage.
